Moon Called by J.E. McDonald

"Moon Called" is the latest novel in the Luna series by Ian McDonald. The novel is set on a distant planet that is imperialized by Earth. It explores the clash between the immaterial economy and the postcolonial global capital set of relations. This is a highly anticipated sequel, which is slated to hit shelves in 2019.

The ad campaign began in the 1980s, and it was created by an executive at McDonald's advertising agency who had a passion for the song "Mack the Knife." The piece, which features a serial slasher, made its debut in a German opera in 1928. It became popular again in the 1950s when Bobby Darin covered it. The ad agency used a version of the song that had just become a hit by Bobby Darin. The lyrics were grafted onto a concept that McDonald adapted from Coke pitchman Max Headroom: Mac Tonight, a moon-headed crooner who wears sunglasses only during the night.

McDonald's neoliberal dystopian vision is a resounding critique of libertarian ideas. While the Moon is a fully libertarian society, the utopian aspects of the full-libertarian Moon must be analyzed from the neoliberal dystopia McDonald envisions. In a world where contract law is the sole arbiter of legality, Bryce McKenzie has more legal rights to own a sex slave than anyone else.

All the Broken Places by J.E. McDonald

When McDonald was writing her first novel, she envisioned it as a children's book and a realistic depiction of real life. Then, she met Orchard editor Richard Jackson at the Fall Festival of Books in Pittsburgh. McDonald decided to send the manuscript to him and was delighted to see that he liked it. After receiving an acceptance from Orchard, McDonald was not aware of the reality of his work until he saw the illustrations by S. D. Schindler.

Readers will enjoy the realistic portrayals of real life characters. The main character, Lajza Mineli, is a child who runs away from home to escape an abusive situation. The story is told from her perspective. The book has an unusually strong ending, which will leave you wanting more. The book will have you laughing out loud from start to finish, but you will feel engrossed in the characters and the storyline.

This novel is well-paced and has an engaging tone. Amanda's antics are incredibly endearing, and the book is a sweet read. While many lines in this novel are funny (such as when she announces that butterflies have taste buds on their feet), others are more profound, like when she tells her mother that she has a terrible stomachache. The illustrations are beautifully done, and rely on exaggeration rather than literal interpretation to keep them humorous.

The story follows eight children as they tell the story of their homes around the world. It takes place at night, and the children are left in different places. Their houses are vastly different, but they all share one common roof: the stars. It's a wonderful journey into human nature. This book is highly recommended. The illustrations will make you want to reread it time again. Once you've read All the Broken Places by J.E. McDonald, you will be surprised at how well the author does with her characters.

The story itself is incredibly moving and emotional. The protagonists, Hallie McDonald, is a seventh grader. The characters are portrayed as archetypes of the Wise Woman. While there are some recurring themes throughout the book, many of the characters are quite likable. In particular, the character of Funnybone is a powerful, recurring theme in this book.
