We will argue that the NCSS Notable Trade list is a model for how to approach citizenship education and a key part of that effort is the inclusion of global citizenship-related themes.

The cosmopolitan discourse can be applied to the canonical texts of modern France and Germany, writings of influential authors, and the scroll of independence of a nation-state, pledging loyalty to a global vision of peace and cooperation.
